Job Title: Staff Auditor
Location: Jacksonville, FL Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite/Hybrid
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Auditor with 2+ years of professional audit experience to join our internal audit team. This role involves executing audits, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with internal controls, GAAP standards, and company policies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with financial audits and a strong understanding of audit procedures and accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform financial, operational, and compliance audits across departments and entities
- Evaluate accounting systems and internal controls; recommend process improvements
- Conduct walkthroughs, risk assessments, and testing of financial transactions and balances
- Prepare audit documentation, summaries, and reports for management review
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to gather documentation and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with audit planning, file setup, and execution of audit programs
- Stay current on GAAP and relevant regulatory updates
- Support external audit processes when needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA-track preferred)
- 2+ years of audit experience, preferably in public accounting or internal audit
- Strong understanding of GAAP, internal control frameworks, and audit methodologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; audit software experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, communication, and time management skills
- Experience in construction, healthcare, or professional services is a plus
- Military experience or bilingual fluency (e.g., Spanish) is a bonus
